兴都库什—帕米尔地区处于印度板块和欧亚板块碰撞带的西缘,是大陆内部中源地震最为活跃的区域。该地区应力场特征表明,印度板块向北的主动推挤,是形成这一区域应力场的动力源,通过分析新疆及周边地区的构造背景和动力环境,认为新疆地区强震活动主要受兴都库什—帕米尔构造结的动力作用影响。研究结果显示,兴都库什—帕米尔地区的7级以上中源地震活动与新疆地区强震存在较好的对应关系;2015以来,印度板块对欧亚板块的推挤作用持续增强,需关注新疆地区发生强震的危险性。
The Hindu Kush-Pamir region is located on the western edge of the collision zone between the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate,and is the most active region of intermediate-focus earthquakes in the mainland. The characteristics of the stress field in this area indicate that the active northward pushing of the Indian plate is the dynamic source for the formation of the stress field in this area. Based on the analysis of the tectonic background and dynamic environment of Xinjiang, it is considered that the strong earthquakes activity in Xinjiang is mainly influenced by the dynamic action of the Hindu kush-Pamir tectonic structure. The results show that there is a good corresponding relationship between the intermediate-focus earthquakes with M≥7 in Hindu Kush-Pamir area and the strong earthquakes in Xinjiang. Since 2015, the pushing effect of the Indian plate on the Eurasian plate has continued to increase,and attention should be paid to the risk of strong earthquakes in Xinjiang.
