A three-dimensional finite element calculation model was created using the three-dimensional constitu‐tive model considering particle crushing of silty soil to simulate the soil excavation process using the example of a medium-deep foundation pit in silty soil. Field monitoring data and numerical simulation results were compared and analyzed to determine the evolution laws of soil displacement, foundation pit bottom displacement, surface settle‐ment, foundation pit stress, and underground diaphragm wall deformation law during the deep foundation pit excava‐tion process. The outcomes demonstrate that the bottom uplift, which occurs following the completion of deep foun‐dation pit excavation, is elastic and has a maximum uplift value of 23.4 mm. Surface settlement initially rises in the direction away from the foundation pit, peaks at 11.34 mm, and then falls until it approaches zero. The simulated values are essentially in agreement with the measured values, proving the accuracy of numerical simulation and the rationality of the selected soil constitutive model and simulation parameters. The constrution scheme is optimized by varying the parameters of the underground diaphragm wall thickness and burial depth, and this serves as a reference for the support design of similar middle-deep foundation pits in silty soil.
