The recording capabilities of continuous gravimeters are differently influenced by earthquakes of varying magnitudes and epicentral distances. This study examines the co-seismic response characteristics of the Dingri MS 6.8 earthquake recorded by gPhone gravimeters at five stations in Yunnan Province (Kunming, Diqing, Yunlong, Yanzian, and Menglian). Observational data were preprocessed using Tsoft software to analyze key features, includ‐ing arrival time, waveform morphology, amplitude, and duration. The main findings are as follows: The arrival time of initial wave is proportional to the epicentral distance; the recorded waveforms exhibit highly similar oscillatory patterns, all showing consistent downward initial motion; and the rapid recovery of the post-seismic tidal curves con‐firms the high stability and consistency of instruments. The observed downward initial motion in gPhone records may be related to the seismic source mechanism and is jointly controlled by azimuth, epicentral distance, and the generation of dilatational waves (which produce downward motion). Only minor variations in response amplitude and duration were observed among stations. Possible explanations for these limited differences include: relatively small variations in epicentral distances, leading to insignificant attenuation effects; heterogeneous geological structures re‐sulting from Yunnan's complex tectonic complexity; differences in instrument sensitivity settings; possible clock synchronization discrepancies at certain stations. By analyzing the co-seismic response of the Dingri MS 6.8 earth‐quake recorded in Yunnan, this study elucidates regional gravity field response patterns under far-field seismic dis‐turbances, and provides practical references for seismic data processing and analysis at monitoring stations.
