The Leizhou 2000 m seismic observation deep well civil engineering is the key construction project of the National Belt and Road Seismic Monitoring Network Project. Due to the loose strata and considerable depth of the seismic monitoring well, the selection of drilling tools for the four-open drilling construction is relatively challenging, and there is a risk of collapse and leakage during drilling. To address the aforementioned technical challenges, this paper provides a detailed exposition of the overall plan for the design and construction of the 2000 m seismic monitoring well in Leizhou, including the selection of drilling rig and drilling equipment, blowout prevention at the borehole, drilling fluid ratio optimization, borehole inclination control, and cementing processes, and employs a comprehensive logging method to divide the lithological changes of the surrounding rock formations during the construction process. The successful completion of this project provides a reliable case reference for the construction of other seismic monitoring deep wells.
